They call me the pop culture Savante
Hi, my name is Cassie! Thank you for stopping by.
All me to introduce myself: I’m a pop culture obsessive who thrives on staying abreast of all things trending – fashion and shifts in luxury marketing, the latest celebrity headlines and the next hot spot travel destination are all on the agenda. I excel at keeping others in the loop, which is how I ended up as a lifestyle and entertainment journalist.
Most recently, I’ve transitioned to a freelance writing and editing role, where I contribute to a number of publications in the US and Canadian markets. You can find my bylines on ELLE Canada, NUVO, inTouch and Life&Style, BELLA magazine, Daily Hive, VITA, HELLO! Canada and more.
From 2019-2023, I was a senior editor under Bonnie Fuller at Penske Media’s HollywoodLife. I kept my finger on the pulse of breaking news, oversaw the weekend team of writers, managed our news list and social media feeds, and – perhaps my favorite part of the gig – supported the team with on-site event coverage and interviews.
Before moving to Los Angeles, I was a senior producer, on-air contributor and social media manager for one of Canada’s largest morning shows, CTV Morning. When I say I had the time of my life in this gig, that’s an understatement. Major milestones included covering and attending most of the major award shows in Hollywood – the Oscars, Emmys and Golden Globes – and reporting back to our loyal viewers.
Outside of my career in media, I also produce and consult. Since 2021, I have been working with the Shanghai-based team at Yotta Games for mobile app Hollywood Crush, where I give direction on celebrity culture, fashion and makeup trends on the game (now available in the Apple store). Another highlight has been working with the Apple TV+ team for a short contract on shoes “See” starring Jason Momoa, and “Home Before Dark” with Brooklyn Prince where I oversaw on-set social media and behind-the-scenes content.
As for the nuts and bolts, I graduated from West Point Grey Academy, then pursued a degree in Communications at Simon Fraser University. In an effort to be as well-rounded as possible, I sought internships in various cross-sections of the industry, including FASHION and WHERE magazine under the Rogers Publishing umbrella, Citizen PR during the 2010 Winter Olympic Games, as well as at CBS under the daytime umbrella with ‘The Bold & the Beautiful.’
I love connecting with others, pitching, and telling stories – so feel free to get in touch!
